Students and social media – a horrible mix. There’s been some conflict between a teacher and a class in school recently. Having heard the teacher’s side of the story, I’m more inclined to believe her because (a) I know the class and it does not surprise me that they act that way and (b) I… Continue reading »

Why do you care what I do in my private life?
Taken from Pharyngula about how teachers often find their freedom restricted (in response to a teacher who got fired for having certain views): And please note, I’m not talking about what you do in the classroom — there are reasonable restrictions on what you can do there, and there is also a specific set of… Continue reading »

The good and the bad
I guess today encapsulated the good and bad of teaching. In the morning, a group of students my colleagues and I were in charge of were told to report to us at a certain time. In the end, the whole group sauntered down half an hour later. Then when they saw us, they neither bothered… Continue reading »

Early Morning Annoyances
Cabs are great inventions. I take one to school almost everyday and I wouldn’t know what to do without them. Cab drivers on the other hand can be very annoying. I can forgive going the wrong way, I can forgive non-stop political chatter – heck, as long as I get where I want in a… Continue reading »
